Just wondering how many people out there have mom and dad back at the family home of 40 years still going up and down the stairs to do laundry and go tot the freezer for there over flow food? It took me FIVE years to convince my ma and pa to down size and after all that kicking and screaming it took one week for my mother and father to say,….oh my gosh what were we thinking!!! We love this new home and LOVE not having stairs and why didnt I convince them sooner?! Well listen up people, just go try to find a one level home near where your folks live now, with all the high density building that went on and all the Multi level builders out there, there is no one level home for mom and dad. They do like to be near where they have lived because they like to shop at the same place and they like familiarity of an area. Oh yah, hey once you find them that home, put it in a trust, or make sure you are covered in case one of them gets sick or expires and you end up in Probate!! Tough things to get ma and pa to do, but well worth it once it is done…………www.mitchspargur.com

Plymouth, Minnesota has a hospital. Plymouth has many medical professionals operating in a variety of specialties. Fundamental healthcare begins with an individual or family?s access to a general physician, call it a family doctor or for children, a Pediatrician and for women a Gynecologist. Certainly, for people like me, a good therapist; better yet, a Psychiatrist! But why is it that someone in Plymouth, Minnesota cannot locate a physician that will take new patients?
CityBlog Plymouth, was struck by the frustration that was apparent in Susie Pena’s (a Plymouth, Minnesota resident) post on May 9, 2007, which read as follows:
I have been here 1 year this June and have yet to find a doctor that will accept new patients. I am very discouraged that there is no avenue for new residents to find out who is available without a lot of labor intensive efforts.
Does Plymouth have a physician association or, does the hospital know of new physicians coming into Plymouth that are looking for new patients? It would behoove all communities to have some centralized service that maintains a list of physicians who can accept patients as either “new” or on a rotating basis until the new resident can establish regular healthcare.
